Day One

Session One: the colors of pastel

Virmarie DePoyster, acclaimed pastel artist, will lead us through an exploration of material and color to push, not only your levels of creating expressive art, but your student’s expression, as well.

~

Session Two: Gallery Exploration

Building upon the morning experience, we will visit the galleries to explore innovative drawing technique, color as a dialogue, and teaching techniques to increase student understanding of art that exists!

Day Two

Session Three: painting with glass

Glass instructor, Donnell Williams, will walk you through fused-glass art with an emphasis on color, design, and story-telling. This experience will continue to push your thinking about color as an artistic form of communication and incorporate design, as well as safe glass techniques!

Session Four: Thinking in three dimensions

Using the expressive craft collection of the Arkansas Arts Center, participants will explore the social issues expressed in non-traditional media.
