Visitor Services Representative

The ideal candidate will possess an energetic and positive attitude that will present a great first impression to visitors and callers of the Arkansas Arts Center. Responsibilities include: Perform all ticketing functions including selling tickets, selling season tickets, and special event tickets via phone, email, mail and in person. This position serves as a primary contact for school show reservations, which includes daily interaction with educators throughout the state. Individual must possess strong communication and organizational skills. Promote upcoming programs and push membership sales. Actively utilize suggestive sales and customer service techniques to encourage repeat business, additional ticket sales and provide ‘best in class’ customer service. Maintain accurate customer information and sales records utilizing computerized ticketing system. Prepare accurate, required end-of-day paperwork. Excellent computer skills and experience handling money are mandatory. Customer service experience is required. A background in art, art history, or theatre is preferred. Hours are M-F, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Position offers excellent benefits.

Position for Contract Employment - Digital Media Instructor for 6 to 14 year olds

The Education Department at the Arkansas Arts Center is searching for a Digital Media instructor for the upcoming Spring Break Program, “Looks Like Literature!” running March 23 – 27, 2015. The camp’s focus in on Author/Illustrators and the connection between the visual arts and language arts. Ideal applicants will have teaching experience in the elementary classroom, as well as a background in graphic art and design, command over visual editing software (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator), and the fundamentals of photography. The position requires a working knowledge of cameras, scanners, and printers. A BA in Art and/or Education is preferred.
