LOCATION: All registered students are required to attend a Welcome Session on Sunday, Sep 6, 2015 at 1:00pm in the Arkansas Arts Center Lecture Hall. Instructor will give further instructions and announce off-site locations at that time.

~

Learn how to draw the elements of an urban landscape in this five-week drawing course. The class is designed to help the student become more comfortable with sketching on-site in an urban environment, help him or her develop a greater understanding of how architectural and structural forms work with the human figure, and investigate some of the more abstract elements found in an urban environment, such as, sound and light. This class will meet once at the Arts Center to discuss urban sketching as an art form in and of itself and to go over some of the do's and don'ts of the practice. Each session afterword will meet on-site in downtown Little Rock, with specific locations TBD (To Be Determined) and announced by the instructor. PREREQUISITE: Basic drawing skills are required for this class.

~

Materials needed for the class will be simple sketching tools, like graphite, charcoal, ink and watercolor, and a sturdy sketchbook (size is up to the student, but anything bigger than 16 x 20 is not recommended).
